Position Information

Job Summary:

Provide clinical care to patients in accordance with regulations to include but not limited to obtaining patient history, ordering labs, diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals.
Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioners when necessary.
Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to coordinated care.
Uphold excellent bedside manner and ability to create a great patient experience.
Provide care for women during prenatal, natal and postnatal periods.
Perform C-Sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients' health and deliver babies safely.
Explain procedures, discuss test results, and prescribed treatments with patients.
Monitor patients progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
Attends departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested.
Adherence and knowledge of laws to internal medicine, including HIPPA.
Womens Hospital has a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and is a referral center for communities around the state.
Our busy collaborative Midwifery practice is part of our Obstetric Program.
Position Requirements:

Current board certification or currently board eligible.
Successful completion of an accredited Obstetric Residency program.
Two (2) or more years of experience.

Albuquerque Climate

Whereas temperatures can climb up to 100 degrees during the peak of summer in the lower elevations, daytime highs average only in the 70s in the mountains. Most of the southern desert part of the state will only receive 10 inches or less of precipitation, while twice as much precipitation will fall in higher elevations. Relatively low humidity and more than 300 days of sun are just two more reasons residents take advantage of a variety of outdoor activities.
